My second setting of Pedro's poems is a waltz that describes a sensual evening encounter, accompanied by Bach's music.

Here, as in the other poems, the title is a verse unto itself, not present in the poem and linked with the story at the end of the last verse.

lyrics by Pedro Lago

Eram os desenhos espalhados
em tua pele e o gosto de
cachaça em nossas línguas.

Era teu corpo despido
e tua mão no meu rosto

Eram teus olhos negros fechados
era teu ventre salgado
indo e voltando.

Era a suíte para cello de Bach
era teu sono resistindo,
eu, implorando.

Era teu corpo quente
escrito esculpido,
era a noite que tudo assistia
sorrindo e sugando.

lyrics by Pedro Lago

The patterns scattered
over your skin, and the taste of
cachaça on our tongues.

Your naked body
and your hand snapping
on my face.

Your black closed eyes
enjoying it,
your salty belly
coming and going.

Bach’s cello suite
you, resisting sleep,
I, imploring.

Your warm body
written, sculpted,
the night watching it all
smiling and sipping.
